Seen are Bechelli’s Flower Market Cafe (currently closed) and the Fantastico building in SOMA (closed), the original sign for the Lafayette Coffee Shop in the Tenderloin, St. Francis Market on Polk Street (closed), and Tim Dunlavy (1965-2016).
Gary Fembot is a filmmaker living in San Francisco. His films include the Super 8mm shorts “AIDS Camp” (2009), “Together People” (2012), and “Scream of the Mandrake” (2016). In 2014 he had a solo show (“Cyber Beach Party/nanobites”) at Right Window Gallery in San Francisco. He premiered a one-act play “Shelter in Place” in 2018 in the basement of the historic Redstone Labor Temple in San Francisco. He has photographed and edited several short films for Brontez Purnell including “Free Jazz” (2012) and “100 Boyfriends Mixtape (the Demo)” (2016). His work has screened at Frameline, San Francisco, Mix NYC, Outfest Platinum Showcase, Los Angeles, and the Whitney Museum’s “Day Without Art”.
